Amazfit launches the T-Rex Dual Solar in Spain, featuring innovative dual-sided solar charging that promises unprecedented battery life for explorers and adventurers, blending rugged durability with extended autonomy.
Amazfit has brought a new outdoor-focused smartwatch to Spain with a claim that will catch the attention of hikers, trekkers and anyone who spends long days away from mains power: the T-Rex Dual Solar can recharge from sunlight on both sides of the case. According to El Androide Libre, the design is built around a front solar layer integrated into the 1.32-inch AMOLED display and a second panel on the rear of the watch body, giving the device a more unusual charging system than most solar watches on the market. Amazfit’s product page presents the same dual-sided approach as a central feature of the model. The watch is priced at €649.90 in Spain.
The battery claims are the headline attraction. Amazfit says the watch can last up to 25 days in standard use, but that figure rises to 34 days with three hours a day in 50,000-lux sunlight using the front panel, and to 51 days when the rear panel is used under the same conditions. In an extreme outdoor mode designed to minimise power consumption, the company says the T-Rex Dual Solar can stretch to 180 days when solar charging from the rear panel is factored in. That makes the device less a general-purpose smartwatch than a specialist tool for long expeditions, repeated field work and trips where charging opportunities are limited.
The hardware is pitched accordingly. Amazfit says the screen can reach 3,000 nits of peak brightness, which should help readability in direct sunlight, while the display is protected by sapphire glass. The outer bezel and the four physical buttons use grade 5 titanium, and the company says the watch is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from minus 30C to 70C. The navigation package includes support for six satellite positioning systems, among them GPS and Galileo, plus offline topographical maps, road maps and ski maps. A built-in LED torch with SOS mode is also included, with the company saying it can output 200 lux and rise to 300 lux in Boost mode.
Health and training functions remain part of the package, although they are clearly secondary to the watch’s outdoor emphasis. According to Amazfit, the T-Rex Dual Solar tracks heart rate, fatigue and blood oxygen saturation, with data handled through the Zepp app, where users can also plan mixed strength and endurance sessions. Third-party launch coverage also notes support for more than 180 workout modes and 10 ATM water resistance. Taken together, the specification places the T-Rex Dual Solar in the growing category of rugged smartwatches that try to combine expedition-ready durability with enough connected features to remain useful in everyday training.
