Tecno Camon 40 edges ahead with advanced display and camera features over Oppo A60 in budget segment

The Tecno Camon 40 outperforms the Oppo A60 in display quality, camera capabilities, and video support, highlighting a shift towards more feature-rich affordable smartphones despite similar price points.

The Oppo A60 and Tecno Camon 40 sit in the same low-to-mid price band, but they target buyers differently. According to VIVA, both models remained available in Indonesia into September 2026 at broadly similar prices, yet they diverge sharply in display quality, camera hardware, charging and overall feature set. The age gap also matters: the Oppo A60 arrived in 2024, while the Tecno Camon 40 launched in 2025.

The biggest contrast is the screen. VIVA says the Oppo A60 uses a 6.67-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 950 nits, plus Splash Touch for use in wet conditions. By contrast, comparison sites such as Pinoy Techno Guide and MobileMaya describe the Tecno Camon 40 as having a larger 6.78-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. In practical terms, the Tecno panel should look sharper, deliver deeper contrast and feel smoother during scrolling and animation.

Camera hardware also favours the Tecno. VIVA reports that the Oppo A60 pairs a 50MP main camera with a 2MP secondary sensor and an 8MP front camera, with rear video capture limited to 1080p at 30 frames per second. The Camon 40, meanwhile, combines a 50MP main camera with Sony LYT-700C sensor support and optical image stabilisation, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 32MP selfie camera. VIVA’s summary, citing specifications compiled by GSMArena, says it can record video in 4K at 30 frames per second, which gives it a clear technical advantage for both stills and video.

Performance and storage options are more mixed. The Oppo A60 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 4G built on a 6nm process, with 8GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage and microSD expansion. The comparison pages from Pinoy Techno Guide and Techbuz indicate that the Tecno Camon 40 is built around a more capable chipset class and is positioned as the stronger performer overall, although the exact appeal will depend on whether the buyer prioritises general speed, gaming, or camera processing. In other words, the Oppo appears to lean towards basic efficiency, while Tecno is pitching for more ambitious everyday use.

Battery life is the final area to consider, but the broader market reading is that the two phones are aimed at different priorities rather than pure value parity. The available comparison sources place the Oppo A60 and Tecno Camon 40 in broadly similar purchase territory, yet Tecno’s AMOLED screen, richer camera package and higher-end video support make it the more feature-rich option. Oppo, by contrast, keeps the formula simpler and may still appeal to buyers who want a familiar interface, expandable storage and a more restrained specification sheet.
