Graperain launches versatile development platform powered by Allwinner A733 with advanced multimedia and RISC-V capabilities

Shenzhen-based Graperain introduces a high-performance, flexible development platform built around the Allwinner A733 SoC, boasting AI acceleration, extensive multimedia interfaces, and RISC-V coprocessor for industrial and outdoor applications.

Shenzhen Graperain Technology has introduced a development platform built around the Allwinner A733, combining a system-on-module with a carrier board aimed at embedded and edge-computing use cases. The company positions the board as a compact hardware kit for developers who need an octa-core Arm processor, local AI acceleration, modern wireless connectivity and multiple display and camera interfaces in one reference design. According to Graperain’s product information, pricing was not listed at the time of publication.

At the centre of the platform is Allwinner’s A733 processor, which pairs two Cortex-A76 cores with six Cortex-A55 cores and a maximum clock speed of 2.0GHz. Allwinner describes the chip as a high-performance part for mid-to-high-end tablets and interactive display products, with an Imagination PowerVR BXM-4-64 MC1 GPU and a 3-TOPS neural processing unit for on-device AI workloads. The SoC also includes a Xuantie E902 RISC-V coprocessor, adding a secondary low-power core for specialised tasks.

Graperain says the module can be configured with 2GB, 4GB, 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 memory, with 2GB as the default option. Storage support includes eMMC modules from 8GB to 256GB and UFS 3.0, while the carrier board adds an M.2 M-Key slot for 2280-format PCIe SSDs. That makes the platform more flexible than many low-cost embedded boards, especially for software development, logging or local data processing where removable or higher-capacity storage is useful.

The board also places emphasis on media and display I/O. Graperain lists HDMI 2.0b with 4K output at 60Hz, DisplayPort 1.4 over USB Type-C and two MIPI-DSI interfaces, alongside two MIPI-CSI camera connectors. The A733 itself supports hardware decoding of H.265, VP9 and AVS2 up to 8K at 24fps, while encoding reaches 4K at 30fps for H.265 and H.264. Networking includes Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4, and the carrier board adds USB ports, UART headers, ADC channels, RTC support, audio connectors and a 5V fan header.

Software support covers Android 15, Buildroot and Debian 11, with Graperain also supplying schematics, source code, manuals and development tools. The carrier board measures 130 × 90mm, while the system-on-module measures 69.6 × 38mm and uses a 260-pin, 0.5mm-pitch gold-finger connector. Graperain says the platform is rated for operation between -25°C and 75°C, which broadens its appeal for industrial and outdoor deployments.
