Acer Malaysia unveils a more refined Predator Orion 7000 with premium cooling features and a higher price tag

Acer Malaysia launches its first Predator concept store with a refreshed Predator Orion 7000 gaming desktop, featuring modest upgrades, enhanced cooling, and a premium price point amidst ongoing competition in high-performance gaming PCs.

Acer Malaysia has used the opening of its first Predator concept store at Plaza Low Yat to introduce a refreshed Predator Orion 7000 desktop, but the update is more evolutionary than transformative. The machine keeps the same headline combination seen in the previous generation, pairing Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5080. The visual redesign is modest, with Acer saying the chassis has been revised, but not radically reworked.

The new configuration ships with 32GB of DDR5-6000 RGB memory and a 1TB SSD, while Acer says the system can be expanded to 128GB of RAM and up to 6TB of storage through two M.2 slots. Cooling remains a central selling point. Acer is highlighting its Predator CycloneX 360 thermal system alongside a CPU liquid cooler, which it claims lifts cooling efficiency by 15% and cuts motherboard temperatures by 9 degrees Celsius. That positioning reflects the sort of specification race now common in premium gaming desktops, where thermal headroom matters as much as raw component choice.

The price, however, is harder to ignore. Acer has set the Predator Orion 7000 at RM18,999 in Malaysia, a figure that appears to sit above several similarly specified prebuilt gaming systems listed by local and international resellers. Some competing machines with the same Core Ultra 9 285K and RTX 5080 combination are being offered at lower prices, although availability, bundled accessories and regional support differ. Acer says buyers who purchase before 14 October will receive a Predator Cestus 335 mouse valued at RM299.

The concept store launch is also being used to drive short-term promotions across the Predator and Nitro ranges. Acer says selected high-performance devices are being discounted by as much as RM1,300 until 31 October, with the Predator Rift cut to RM399 from RM1,299 and the Nitro desktop reduced from RM4,699 to RM3,399. Other gaming laptops, including the Predator Helios Neo 16 and Predator Helios Neo 16S, are also part of the opening offers, underlining the company’s effort to turn the retail space into both a showcase and a sales channel.
