Vivo’s X Fold6 enters European markets with leading camera and battery specs

Vivo’s X Fold6, now available in select European markets, features a disruptive combination of a large battery and advanced imaging hardware, marking a significant entry into the global foldable smartphone arena amidst competition with Honor’s Magic V6.

vivo’s X Fold6 has reached international markets, giving the company a long-awaited entry into the wider foldable conversation. In an early hands-on, GSMArena said the device arrives with an 80W charger, a USB-A to USB-C cable and a protective case in the box, a welcome inclusion at a time when many premium phones ship with less. The case covers only the rear section of the handset, which is typical for foldables, but GSMArena described it as notably well finished, with a textured surface that improves grip.

The first obvious comparison is with Honor’s Magic V6, another book-style foldable that has drawn attention for its thin profile and strong specification sheet. TechRadar reported that vivo’s model is not expected to launch in the UK or US, but will appear in selected European markets, placing it in direct competition with Honor in regions where both devices are available. The Honor phone has matte panels on both displays and, according to Honor, carries an IP68 and IP69 rating, a 6,600mAh battery and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 power. Vivo, by contrast, is leaning on a larger battery and more ambitious imaging hardware.

On paper, the X Fold6 is built to appeal to buyers who want a folding phone without giving up the feel of a conventional flagship. Xataka reported that it uses an 8.02-inch internal AMOLED panel and a 6.51-inch outer display, both paired with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chip, up to 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and as much as 1TB of storage. The same report said the battery capacity is 6,900mAh, with 80W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. That battery size puts vivo among the leaders in the category, while its camera array, led by a 200-megapixel main sensor and a 50-megapixel telephoto unit, gives it a clear specification advantage over many rivals.

Camera performance may be the most important part of vivo’s pitch. GSMArena noted that the main sensor is a 1/1.4-inch unit, which is unusually large for a foldable, while the 70mm zoom lens and Zeiss branding suggest that vivo intends the X Fold6 to compete on photography as much as on design. TechRadar was even more explicit, saying the phone delivered the best photos it had seen among 2026 foldables, although it also pointed to slower unfolding animations and some software restrictions in the background. Pricing remains the final question. Xataka said the device is priced at €2,199, while GSMArena said vivo had yet to formally confirm its global price but expected it to land near €2,200, leaving it firmly in the premium tier and close enough to Honor’s pricing to make the comparison unavoidable.
