CorelDRAW releases a groundbreaking September 2026 update introducing a Text-to-Vector AI tool, transforming prompts and reference artwork into editable vector graphics and streamlining the design process for professional creators.
CorelDRAW has added a Text-to-Vector AI tool in its September 2026 update, extending the software’s generative features into native vector creation. The feature is designed to turn written prompts or reference artwork into scalable graphics that remain editable inside the CorelDRAW workspace, rather than producing flat images that then need to be traced or rebuilt by hand. According to Corel’s announcement, the update is aimed at designers who need faster asset creation without losing control over shapes, curves and colour.
The new system is built into the AI Generate docker, where users can work from a prompt or from an existing image such as a logo, illustration or photograph. Corel says the output is composed of real vector elements, including editable paths, shapes and fills, which can be adjusted after generation. That matters for production work, where teams often need to refine node positions, adapt colours for brand standards, or resize artwork for print, packaging and digital layouts without quality loss.
CorelDRAW is also offering three model levels for different levels of complexity: Vector Spark for simpler graphics, Vector Craft for routine design tasks and Vector Master for more demanding prompts guided by reference material. The company says the feature sits alongside existing image generation tools, remixing options and an updated PowerTRACE system for bitmap-to-vector conversion. Taken together, the changes point to a broader attempt to keep ideation and production inside one environment, rather than forcing designers to move between separate AI and illustration tools.
The update is not purely technical; it also reinforces Corel’s commercial split between subscription and perpetual licensing. Corel says the suite is available as an annual subscription for $269, or as a one-time purchase for $549. AI use is governed by credits, with subscription and maintenance customers receiving 2,000 credits each month and perpetual licence holders receiving 2,000 credits once. That structure may suit businesses that use generative features occasionally, but heavier users will need to monitor consumption carefully. Corel also says the September release brings faster PowerTRACE performance, improved object and colour handling, and additional CorelDRAW Web features, including custom font uploads and DWG/DXF export.
