Apple’s AirPods Pro 3, now available at a record low of $179 during an early Prime Day deal, combine advanced noise cancellation and new health and translation features, positioning them as a comprehensive upgrade for audiophiles and fitness enthusiasts alike.
Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 are being sold at $179, down from their usual $249, in an early Prime Day promotion that Macworld says is the lowest price it has tracked this year. For buyers weighing whether to upgrade from older AirPods models, the discount sharpens the appeal of what is already Apple’s most fully featured in-ear headphone line, combining active noise cancellation, spatial audio and a tighter fit with a more ambitious set of health and communication tools.
The third-generation model goes beyond audio. Apple says the earbuds include heart rate sensing for workout tracking, with support for calorie estimates across a wide range of exercise types. They also add Live Translation through Apple Intelligence, intended to make face-to-face conversations across languages less cumbersome. Apple describes the sound system as using a new multiport acoustic architecture, while MacRumors reports that the model brings substantially stronger noise cancellation than the previous generation, together with revised adaptive tuning for clearer vocals and deeper bass.
Independent reviews have broadly backed that positioning. RTINGS.com says the AirPods Pro 3 deliver notably stronger isolation and improved audio accuracy, while also noting IP57 dust, sweat and water resistance. Tom’s Guide has called them the best AirPods Apple has produced so far, pointing to the addition of a smaller XXS ear tip, better comfort over long sessions and support for translation features that rely on Apple Intelligence. The charging case has also been updated, with MacRumors reporting a slightly larger design, a capacitive pairing button, a hidden status light and a lanyard attachment point.
Battery life is also competitive for premium true wireless earbuds. Apple says the AirPods Pro 3 can last for up to eight hours with active noise cancellation enabled on a single charge, and longer in Transparency mode. Taken together with the new heart rate sensor, hearing features and improved fit, the model is aimed at users who want more than straightforward playback. At the promotional price, it is positioned as a more serious all-round purchase than a routine accessory buy.
