Dell has launched the Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and Pro Rugged 14 in India, offering field workers fully and semi-rugged laptops with hot-swappable batteries, bright displays and optional 5G or RTX graphics.
Dell has expanded its rugged PC line-up in India with the Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and the Pro Rugged 14, two business laptops aimed at field workers, industrial users and other buyers who need machines built to survive difficult conditions. According to Gadgets 360, the pair is already on sale through Dell’s online store, with the fully rugged 13-inch model priced from Rs. 3,36,990 and the semi-rugged 14-inch version starting at Rs. 2,65,990. Dell’s own product page confirms that the Pro Rugged 13 Extreme is positioned as a high-end field device with IP66 protection and Windows 11 Pro.
The Pro Rugged 13 Extreme is the more robust of the two. Dell says it is designed to withstand dust and pressurised water jets, and it carries MIL-STD-810H testing as well as MIL-STD-461G certification for electromagnetic compatibility. The official specifications list Intel Core Ultra X7 368H vPro processor options, up to 64GB of LPDDR5x memory, up to a 2TB SSD and a 13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen with up to 1,400 nits brightness. Dell also offers Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and optional 5G, while the 53.5Wh battery supports ExpressCharge.
The Pro Rugged 14 takes a lighter approach. Gadgets 360 reports that it has an IP53 rating and is intended as a semi-rugged device, with Dell claiming resistance to a three-foot drop and operation across a wide temperature range. The laptop can be configured with an Intel Core Ultra 7 366H vPro processor, integrated Intel graphics or, optionally, an Nvidia RTX Pro 500 Blackwell GPU with 6GB of GDDR7 memory. Its 14-inch Full HD+ display uses a 19:10 aspect ratio and can reach 1,100 nits of peak brightness.
Both machines are built around the same 53.5Wh battery and support hot-swappable power options, which should help users work through extended shifts without shutting down. They also share modern wireless features and field-friendly input support, including touchscreens designed for outdoor use. The port selection is broad on both models, with Thunderbolt, USB, HDMI, Ethernet and removable-media support aimed at reducing dependence on adapters in industrial environments. For Dell, the launch reinforces a clear split in its rugged portfolio: the Pro Rugged 13 Extreme for harsher deployments, and the Pro Rugged 14 for users who need durability without the same level of protection or cost.
