Galleria packs Core Ultra performance into a 1kg 14-inch notebook

Japan’s Galleria NSC5L-IG-C4 combines a 12-core Intel processor, 16GB of memory and a 1,920 x 1,200 display in a lightweight productivity notebook.

Galleria has introduced the NSC5L-IG-C4, a lightweight 14-inch notebook aimed at users who want a compact machine without giving up modern mid-range performance. According to Notebookcheck, the laptop weighs about 1kg and is built around Intel’s Core Ultra 5 125U, a Meteor Lake U processor with 12 cores split across performance, efficiency and low-power efficiency groups. Dospara’s product page confirms that the machine is being sold for the Japanese market with 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and a 500GB SSD in its base configuration.

The core hardware is pitched at everyday productivity rather than demanding creative work. Notebookcheck notes that the Core Ultra 5 125U should sit below newer chips such as Intel’s Core Ultra 5 325, but still remain capable for mainstream workloads. The integrated Intel graphics are also modest by design, yet are described as sufficient for lightweight GPU tasks and some older games at restrained settings. The system’s RAM is not user-upgradeable, although storage expansion is possible through the M.2 slot.

Display and connectivity are broadly in line with a modern ultralight business notebook. The screen is a matte 14-inch panel with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, and the manufacturer says it covers 95 per cent of the sRGB colour space. Dospara lists two USB-C ports with USB 3.2 Gen 1, DisplayPort 1.4 and 65W Power Delivery, one USB-A port, HDMI 1.4, a 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.

Pricing places the NSC5L-IG-C4 in the upper entry-level to lower mid-range segment for Japan. Notebookcheck reports that the 16GB and 500GB version costs the equivalent of just under €850, while doubling the storage raises the price to about €1,100. Although Galleria is a recognised domestic brand, it is not sold through general retail channels outside Japan. For buyers elsewhere seeking a similar balance of portability and Intel Core Ultra 5 125U performance, comparable models from Dell and HP show that this configuration has become common across compact business laptops.
