OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 16 in China with a 9,000mAh battery, 185Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip and a 200MP camera, although international availability remains unclear.
OnePlus has unveiled the OnePlus 16 in China, and the device arrives with specifications that place it firmly in flagship territory. According to the official OnePlus China listing, it is built around a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 185Hz refresh rate and runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. The most striking figure is the battery: 9,000mAh, a capacity that is unusually large for a mainstream premium phone and far above the 5,000mAh class commonly seen in top-end devices. The company says it supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The screen is not only fast on paper but also tuned for high-refresh operation across the interface, with PhoneArena reporting that the panel can reach 185Hz and that the phone is intended to maintain very smooth motion both in games and in day-to-day use. That level of refresh rate, combined with the large battery, suggests OnePlus is targeting users who care about sustained performance as much as headline specifications. The official product pages and coverage from Gadgets 360 also note the phone’s Android 17 software with ColorOS 17.0 in China.
Camera hardware is equally aggressive. The OnePlus 16 carries a 200-megapixel main rear sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, alongside a 50-megapixel front-facing camera, according to OnePlus and multiple launch reports. That places the device among the more ambitious camera phones in the current premium segment, at least on paper.
Memory and storage options are also generous. The phone is offered in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB variants, with prices in China starting at 5,699 yuan, or roughly ¥13,000 in the Japanese-market framing used by the reports. PhoneArena and Gadgets 360 both describe the OnePlus 16 as officially launched in China, but its availability beyond that market remains uncertain. For buyers outside China, that matters: the device may be easy to admire and difficult to obtain.
