Xiaomi has launched the REDMI 17 and REDMI 17 5G in the Philippines, offering 7,500mAh batteries, 120Hz displays and early-bird pricing from ₱11,999.
Xiaomi has introduced the REDMI 17 series in the Philippines, pitching the new line-up at buyers who want long battery life, a large display and low running costs without moving into premium price territory. Launched on 19 October 2026, the range is aimed at people who depend heavily on their phones for work, study, navigation and entertainment throughout the day.
The series comprises the REDMI 17 and REDMI 17 5G, both built around a 7,500mAh battery and positioned in the ₱10,000 to ₱15,000 bracket. Xiaomi says the phones are intended for practical users who value endurance, durability and affordability over high-end extras. The company is also using an early-sales push to sharpen the value case, with promotional pricing available from 23 to 31 October 2026 and a free VIP Card that adds after-sales benefits worth up to ₱21,200, including battery, screen and rear cover or camera lens replacement coverage.
Battery life is the main selling point. Xiaomi says the REDMI 17 can deliver up to 28 hours of video playback, 91 hours of music playback or 46 hours of calling, while the REDMI 17 5G is rated for up to 28 hours of local video playback, 109 hours of music playback via Bluetooth earphones and 53 hours of calling. The phones support 45W turbo charging, which Xiaomi says can refill the battery in about 96 minutes, and a 35-minute top-up is claimed to provide enough power for a full day of typical use. Both models also support 22.5W wired reverse charging for accessories or other devices.
The display is another major focus. Both models use a 6.9-inch panel with a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate that can shift between 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz to balance smoothness and power use. Xiaomi says the screen carries Triple TÜV Rheinland certifications and DC dimming to reduce eye strain during long sessions, while dual stereo speakers with up to 300% volume boost are designed to suit video, music and calls in louder environments. On the durability side, the phones use Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, carry an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance and include Wet Touch Technology for better responsiveness when hands are damp.
Under the hood, the REDMI 17 uses a MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra chip, while the REDMI 17 5G runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Mobile Platform. Both phones run Xiaomi HyperOS 3 and support up to 12GB of RAM with Memory Extension. The camera system uses a 50-megapixel AI dual setup, with front-and-rear dual-view shooting for recording from two angles at once. The REDMI 17 is available in Black, Deep Blue, Oak Green and Lotus Purple, while the 5G model comes in Black, Deep Blue and Vivid Orange, the last of which uses a PU leather finish. Suggested retail prices are ₱12,999 for the REDMI 17 4G with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and ₱14,999 for the REDMI 17 5G with the same memory configuration. During the introductory period, Xiaomi is offering early-bird prices of ₱11,999 and ₱13,999 respectively.
