Bluesound brings Apple Music directly to BluOS multi-room systems in Australia

A free BluOS update lets Australian Bluesound owners access Apple Music through the BluOS Controller app, without needing a separate phone or tablet for playback.

Bluesound has rolled out native Apple Music support across its wireless speakers, stereo components and soundbars in Australia, extending access to the service’s catalogue of more than 100 million songs for users with an active subscription. According to Bluesound’s announcement, the integration arrives through the latest BluOS software update and is built into the BluOS Controller app, allowing listeners to sign in and start playback without relying on a separate phone or tablet.

The update strengthens BluOS as a single control layer for home audio, with Apple Music now joining the platform’s existing streaming options. Bluesound said the service can be used on one compatible player or grouped across multiple rooms, giving households the option of synchronised playback throughout a property or different music in separate zones. That multi-room capability is central to the BluOS system and remains one of its main differentiators in the connected-audio market.

Compatible hardware includes the PULSE FLEX wireless speaker, the NODE streaming component and the PULSE CINEMA soundbar, alongside other BluOS-enabled products from brands such as NAD Electronics and PSB Speakers. The company said the update is free for existing users, but Apple Music still requires an active subscription and a device running the latest BluOS version.

Alberto Zamudio, general manager at Amber Technology, said the addition reflects Bluesound’s emphasis on music discovery and flexible listening across the home. In a statement quoted by Bluesound, he said: “Bluesound has always been about music discovery and the freedom to enjoy their music their way, in every room they listen in. Adding Apple Music means even more listeners can bring the music they love to their Bluesound system, with the simplicity of the BluOS Controller app and the sound quality Bluesound is known for.”
