The Live Buds 3 pair adaptive noise cancellation and multi-device support with a 1.45-inch touchscreen built into the charging case.
JBL’s Live Buds 3 are being sold at Best Buy for $129.95, a reduction of $100 from the usual $229.95, as shoppers continue to look for wireless earbuds that do more than play music. The headline feature is the charging case itself: a 1.45-inch touchscreen that lets users change audio settings without opening a phone app. Best Buy says the promotion applies to both the black and silver versions of the 2024 model.
That display is meant to reduce the routine back-and-forth that often comes with modern earbuds. According to JBL and the retailer, listeners can use the case to adjust sound controls for connected devices, including laptops and televisions, rather than relying entirely on the JBL Headphones app. For buyers who move between work and entertainment devices, that makes the product more practical than a conventional pair of true wireless earbuds.
Beyond the touchscreen, the Live Buds 3 include adaptive noise cancellation, spatial audio and multi-point Bluetooth support. JBL says the adaptive noise cancellation responds to the environment, while six microphones are designed to improve voice calls by cutting wind and background noise. The company also claims up to 40 hours of battery life with noise cancellation switched off, including the charge stored in the case, plus quick charging that can deliver several hours of playback from a short top-up. Wireless charging is also supported.
The earbuds have picked up a strong reception from shoppers. Best Buy lists an average rating of 4.4 out of 5 from more than 330 reviews, with customers praising the sound, fit and compact design. Crutchfield carries the same model at the same price, while JBL’s own product pages place the standard price at $229.95 and note that the case screen can also be customised with a personal photo wallpaper. That combination of features helps explain why the Live Buds 3 stand out in a crowded category: they are not just another pair of noise-cancelling earbuds, but a more self-contained system for controlling listening settings on the move.
