JBL’s Live Buds 3 combine a touchscreen charging case, strong noise reduction and up to 40 hours of battery life , and a sharp discount makes their ambitious feature set more compelling.
JBL’s Live Buds 3 are positioned as a more ambitious take on the standard wireless earbud formula, with the charging case carrying a 1.45-inch touchscreen that lets users adjust playback, manage calls and change settings without opening the JBL app. According to JBL, the earbuds also support Hi-Res Audio Wireless, True Adaptive Noise Cancelling and six microphones, with the company claiming up to 40 hours of total playback when the case is included.
That design makes the Live Buds 3 stand out in a crowded market, but it is the sound and day-to-day usability that matter most. Consumer Reports described the earbuds as delivering very good audio with effective noise reduction, while also noting integrated volume and call controls. LB Tech Reviews was similarly positive about the fit and ease of use, saying the buds sit securely once positioned correctly and pair easily with mobile devices.
The Amazon discount highlighted by Android Police brings the price down sharply from the $200 list price to about $115, a level that makes the feature set easier to justify. For buyers who value a smart case, strong noise cancelling and longer battery life, that is a more competitive proposition than the launch price would suggest. JBL also says the earbuds are water and dust resistant, which should make them more practical for commuting and regular outdoor use.
