Xiaomi’s Redmi K100 pairs a 10,000mAh battery with flagship power

The Redmi K100 launches in China with a 10,000mAh battery, 100W charging, a 165Hz AMOLED display and Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, starting at about €404.

Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi K100 in China, positioning it as a large-battery flagship with an unusually high-capacity 10,000mAh cell and support for 100W wired charging, according to Gizmochina and FoneArena. The handset starts at 3,499 yuan, which is roughly €404, and Xiaomi says deliveries will begin on 31 October. Some reports, including Gadgets 360 and Mint, describe the device as having been announced for the Chinese market on 28 October, suggesting a short gap between launch-day disclosure and retail availability.

The headline feature is the battery, but the rest of the specification sheet is equally aggressive. Xiaomi has fitted the phone with a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel running at 165Hz, with a resolution of 2,772 by 1,280 pixels and a claimed peak brightness of 3,500cd/m². That places it firmly in the upper tier of Android displays, especially for users who prioritise smooth scrolling, gaming responsiveness and outdoor visibility.

Inside, the Redmi K100 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, the company’s 2024 flagship platform, alongside Xiaomi’s own D2 chip. According to the company’s product information, that auxiliary chip handles frame generation and upscaling, two functions aimed at improving gaming performance and image processing. Storage options run to 256GB or 512GB, with 12GB or 16GB of RAM depending on the configuration, while the top 512GB model is paired only with 16GB of memory.

Camera hardware is more restrained than the battery and display specifications suggest. The rear system combines a 50-megapixel main camera with an 8-megapixel ultrawide unit, and the front camera is rated at 20 megapixels, according to Gizmochina and FoneArena. Xiaomi also says the phone carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, meaning it is designed to withstand both immersion and high-pressure water jets. Bose-tuned stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support are included, alongside Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. The company lists black, white and green colour options, while other reports say a Firefly Green variant will also be offered. It is not yet clear whether the Redmi K100 will be sold outside China, although some reports suggest it could later appear under the Poco brand.
