Lenovo’s latest 14-inch IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 combines Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus with a 1TB SSD, 24GB of RAM, an OLED touchscreen and Wi-Fi 7 for €999.
Lenovo’s IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 has appeared in a well-equipped configuration that pitches a Snapdragon X-based Windows-on-Arm machine at €999. According to Notebookcheck, the 14-inch convertible is sold through Notebooksbilliger.de and is positioned as a higher-spec model within Lenovo’s IdeaPad 5 line, which has long sat in the upper mid-range for notebooks and convertibles.
At the centre of the machine is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100. Notebookcheck says the chip combines eight CPU cores with an Adreno X1-45 graphics unit and a 45 TOPS neural processing unit, allowing the laptop to handle office work, web use, streaming and general multimedia tasks with ease. The NPU also makes the device a Copilot+ PC, which matters for users who want on-device AI features without relying entirely on cloud processing.
Memory and storage are unusually generous for this class. The configuration includes 24 GB of onboard LPDDR5x-8448 in dual-channel mode, with no user-upgradeable slots, and a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD in the only internal drive bay. That means buyers get substantial capacity out of the box, but storage expansion would require replacing the drive rather than adding a second one. Notebookcheck notes that only compact M.2 drives are suitable if the SSD is swapped.
The display is another strong point. Lenovo has fitted a 14-inch OLED touchscreen with a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, 60 Hz refresh rate and DCI-P3 colour coverage. The panel is glossy, supports pen input and is paired with a backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 7 and two USB-C ports with USB 3.2 Gen 2, Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode. Windows 11 Home is installed. Compared with earlier IdeaPad 5 14 models reviewed by outlets such as CNET, Tom’s Hardware, Digital Trends and Laptop Mag, this version moves the range on from more conventional Intel or AMD configurations with Full HD IPS screens, smaller SSDs and older wireless standards.
