Huawei nova 16s Pro pairs a 200MP camera with a 7,000mAh battery

Huawei’s nova 16s Pro combines a 200MP RYYB main camera, 120Hz LTPO OLED display and 7,000mAh battery, but buyers must accept the absence of native Google services.

HUAWEI’s nova line has built a reputation on balancing camera performance, display quality and battery life at a more accessible price point, and the nova 16s Pro continues that formula with a stronger emphasis on imaging. According to GizGuide’s review, the phone centres on a rear system led by a 200MP RYYB main camera with a large 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.8 aperture, supported by a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with optical stabilisation. On the front, HUAWEI pairs a 50MP portrait selfie camera with a multispectral sensor and claims an unusually wide selfie zoom range for closer framing.

The hardware package is matched by a large 6.84-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1Hz to 120Hz refresh range, which the review describes as bright, colourful and easy to see outdoors. The phone also uses Kunlun Glass protection, carries an IP65 rating and includes stereo speakers, giving it a more premium feel than many mid-range rivals. At 7.1mm thick and 218g, it is not especially light, but HUAWEI appears to have prioritised battery capacity and cooling headroom over minimal weight.

Performance comes from the Kirin 9010s chip, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. GizGuide found day-to-day use smooth and gaming acceptable, though the device is clearly aimed at users who value feature depth more than benchmark chasing. The biggest practical advantage is the 7,000mAh battery, backed by 100W wired charging, which should be a major draw for heavy users. The phone runs EMUI 16 and, as the review notes, does not include native Google services, although access to Google apps remains possible through GBox. HUAWEI also retains its own ecosystem tools, including Celia AI, HUAWEI Share, SuperHub and cross-device file sharing, making the nova 16s Pro a well-specified option for buyers willing to work around the software compromise.
