Apple’s AirTag may have set the template, but the category it helped popularise is now crowded, and Reliance Jio is trying to carve out space with its second-generation tracker. Jio’s original Tag arrived in 2023, and the new JioTag 2 is being pitched as a more rounded alternative for users who want broad phone compatibility without paying flagship accessory prices.
That matters because the market now offers different trade-offs. Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag2, which Samsung unveiled with a redesigned body, improved Compass View and a refreshed SmartThings Find experience, is clearly aimed at Galaxy owners who want tighter integration with Samsung’s ecosystem. Samsung’s tracker is more persuasive for Galaxy users, especially given its close ties to SmartThings and support for directional guidance. UGREEN’s option may suit buyers who value flexibility and the convenience of swapping batteries rather than replacing the entire device.
