CMF launches first open-ear earbuds with innovative clip-on design and advanced features

CMF, the budget-friendly offshoot of Nothing, unveils the Clip Pro, a distinctive open-ear earbud with a clip-on format, designed for active listeners seeking natural sound and greater awareness of their surroundings.

CMF, the budget-focused offshoot of Nothing, has unveiled the Clip Pro, its first open-ear earbuds and another sign that the brand wants to make design-led audio products feel less like a compromise. The new model adopts a clip-on format aimed at people who want to listen while staying aware of traffic, conversations or their surroundings, placing it in the growing category of open-ear audio that has become popular for commuting, exercise and all-day wear.

The Clip Pro uses a three-point clip structure and a flexible C-bridge built around an elastic titanium wire core, with CMF saying the shape is intended to spread pressure more evenly across the ear. Each earbud weighs 5.9 grams, and the company says skin-friendly materials are used to improve comfort over longer sessions. The design also marks a clear break from traditional in-ear buds, which rely on tips that seal the ear canal.

Inside, the earbuds carry a 10.8mm dual-magnet dynamic driver, along with CMF’s Ultra Bass Technology, which is meant to counter the low-end loss that often affects open-ear designs while limiting treble distortion. The Clip Pro is Hi-Res Audio certified and supports LDAC, AAC and SBC codecs. For calls, CMF has added a four-microphone setup with VPU-powered Clear Voice Technology, while Sound Seal is designed to reduce sound leakage and can be adjusted in the Nothing X app for calls, playback or both.

Other features include Bluetooth 5.4, multipoint pairing, a low-latency mode for gaming, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair and an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. CMF says the charging case includes a Smart Dial for volume, playback, call handling and pairing, while the physical controls on the earbuds are meant to remain usable during exercise or with gloves. Battery life is listed at up to 10 hours per charge and 32.5 hours including the case, with a 10-minute top-up good for as much as four hours of listening. The Clip Pro will come in Dark Grey, Light Grey and Coral, with pricing and Malaysian availability to be announced later. Reports from What Hi-Fi? and TechRadar place the price at £79, or $99, and TechRadar says sales are due to begin on August 15, 2026.
