TECNO is set to launch its POVA AI Buds Pro in India on 14 August, blending audio and workplace features like AI meeting summaries and real-time translation to stand out amid fierce competition.
TECNO’s POVA brand is preparing to enter India’s crowded true wireless stereo market with a product that leans as much towards workplace utility as it does towards audio. The POVA AI Buds Pro are due to go on sale on 14 August at 12pm IST, with Amazon India listed as the exclusive retail channel under the Amazon Specials programme. The launch places TECNO alongside a growing number of brands trying to package artificial intelligence features into everyday wearables rather than reserving them for phones and laptops.
The headline feature is AI Meeting Summary, which is designed to transcribe discussions and condense them into short notes without manual input. POVA says the earbuds will also support real-time translation across as many as 78 languages, a feature aimed at users who move between markets, languages and workplaces. In practice, that makes the device closer to a productivity accessory than a standard pair of earbuds focused mainly on music and calls.
The hardware package is pitched accordingly. POVA says the earbuds include an 8-microphone array, with feedforward microphones, in-call microphones and a voice pickup unit meant to improve speech capture and cut ambient noise. There is also on-device recording with storage for up to 4 hours, activated by a Quick Note button inside the charging case. That approach is unusual in the category and underlines the company’s attempt to build a note-taking tool into the earbuds themselves.
For listening, the POVA AI Buds Pro support hybrid active noise cancellation rated at up to 48 decibels, along with dual-device pairing for switching between a phone, tablet or PC. Battery life is rated at up to 40 hours with the case, while charging options include USB Type-C and Qi wireless charging. The earbuds also carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, which should make them more suitable for travel and exercise than many office-first audio products.
The launch comes as other brands in India are also adding AI labels and connected-device features to low- and mid-priced wearables. AI+ recently introduced its NovaPods range, including models with ANC, while Mivi has already brought AI-branded earbuds to market with longer playback claims and support for LDAC and spatial audio. Against that backdrop, TECNO is betting that features such as live translation, automated summaries and case-based voice recording will give the POVA line a clearer identity than simple sound quality claims alone.
