Samsung introduces increased trade-in values and substantial discounts on its latest foldables and smartwatch in the US, with retailer and carrier deals boosting affordability amidst stock and delivery variations.
Samsung’s latest foldables and smartwatches are now on sale in the US, and the launch-day promotions have shifted from the pre-order phase to a more conventional set of retailer, carrier and manufacturer discounts. According to Droid-Life, Samsung is offering up to $1,000 off the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra with an eligible trade-in, while Galaxy Z Flip 8 buyers can save up to $630. Customers who do not trade in an old device can still receive instant Samsung Shop credit, which can be used towards accessories at checkout.
For buyers seeking the strongest upfront discount, Best Buy appears to have the sharpest trade-in offer, with savings of up to $1,200 on the Galaxy Z8 series and an effective starting price of $699 with a qualifying device. The retailer’s offer is being positioned as the most aggressive in terms of trade-in value, although stock and delivery timing remain uneven. Droid-Life noted that some Samsung listings show very long shipping estimates, including a Cream-coloured Galaxy Z Fold 8 with delivery pushed to October 30.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is also arriving with a cleaner price cut. Samsung has reduced the watch by $100 instantly, bringing the price to $599 without any trade-in requirement. That makes the wearable launch simpler than the foldables, where the best value depends heavily on the condition and model of the handset being exchanged. In a separate breakdown, SamMobile said Samsung is also giving stronger trade-in values during the launch window, including higher credits for recent iPhones on Samsung’s own store.
Carriers are adding another layer of competition. T-Mobile is advertising savings of up to $1,900 on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 range for customers on qualifying plans, while AT&T is matching that headline figure with up to $1,900 off the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra through bill credits over 36 months. In practice, that means the final cost can drop sharply for customers willing to commit to a long plan and an eligible trade-in. For anyone comparing offers, the biggest variable is not just the sticker discount but whether the saving comes as an immediate price cut, store credit or monthly bill credit.
