Zoner Studio’s latest Summer 2026 update for Windows enhances productivity with advanced multi-frame stacking, redesigned search, and smarter retouching tools, promising faster processing of complex shoots and simplified editing workflows.
Zoner Studio has rolled out its Summer 2026 update with a clear emphasis on workflow rather than spectacle. According to the company, the Windows-based editor now centres on multi-frame stacking, a redesigned search system and faster retouching tools, with the aim of reducing the number of steps needed to process complex shoots.
The biggest change is a broader stacking pipeline built around Autostack, which now groups related bursts, exposure brackets and panoramas more reliably. Zoner says the updated workflow supports Focus Stacking, Exposure Bracketing with up to 9 frames, Panorama stitching, Long Exposure simulation, Animation from Photos and Remove Moving Objects, all of which are intended to help photographers turn multiple captures into a single finished frame more quickly. The new panorama engine also includes Panini projection, a mapping method designed to keep vertical lines straighter and reduce edge distortion in wide images.
Retouching has also been extended. Zoner Studio now includes a Smart Healing tool for content-aware removal of blemishes and distractions, plus a separate function for erasing moving subjects such as pedestrians or passing vehicles by analysing multiple frames. If the first repair is not convincing, the software can cycle through alternatives, which should make routine clean-up faster for photographers who do not want to move into a dedicated pixel editor.
The other major update is the search system. Zoner says the new panel sits in the Navigator area and works across the main modules, including Manager, Develop, Editor, Video and Print. It can search folders outside the catalogue, use live metadata and combine filters such as lens, exposure, date range and rating. The update also refines colour processing and adds a royalty-free Music Library with more than 500 tracks in the Video module. Zoner Studio remains priced at $59 a year and the company says a free 7-day trial is available without payment details.
