Realme prepares to unveil the new 16x 5G in India on August 12, positioning it as a durable, affordable 5G device with a substantial battery and high-refresh-rate display, amidst varied leaks about its specifications and pricing.
Realme is preparing to add another model to its 16 series in India, with the 16x 5G scheduled to launch on August 12 at 12 pm IST. Gizbot says the phone will be sold through Realme’s website, Flipkart and offline stores, and the company is positioning it as the most affordable member of the line-up so far.
Pricing has not been officially confirmed, but a post from tipster Sanju Choudhary suggests the 16x 5G will start at ₹25,999 for the 4GB/128GB version. The same leak points to 6GB/128GB and 6GB/256GB models at ₹27,999 and ₹30,999. That would place it well above some earlier speculation from other leak-based reports, which had suggested a starting price below ₹18,000.
The confirmed specification list is modest but practical. Gizbot says the phone will use a 6.8-inch HD+ LCD panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and run on MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 chip with LPDDR4X memory. It is also expected to carry a 50-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front camera, a 7,000mAh battery and 45W charging. Realme is also said to include IP65 protection against dust and splashes, with colour options limited to Blooming Brown and Blooming Silver.
Some of the surrounding leaks remain inconsistent. 91mobiles reported that the Indian version could get a larger 7,000mAh battery than the global model’s 6,600mAh unit, while other hands-on rumours have pointed to different hardware, including a Dimensity 6400 chip, a 7,550mAh battery and faster charging. For now, the clearest picture is the one Realme has allowed to emerge: the 16x 5G is being pitched as a durable, long-lasting 5G phone for the lower end of the 16 series, arriving shortly after the Realme 16 5G, which Gizmochina says launched in India with a 6.57-inch AMOLED display and a starting price of ₹28,999.
