YUNZII has unveiled the AL98 Pro, a tri-mode mechanical keyboard that combines a 98 per cent layout with a full aluminium chassis, hot-swappable switches and 8,000Hz polling. The model is positioned for users who want a board that can serve both as a gaming peripheral and as a daily typing device, and it is currently being sold in China, with wider international availability still unconfirmed.
The keyboard uses original CHERRY-height keycaps made from a PBT and polycarbonate blend, fitted to a die-cast and CNC-machined aluminium alloy shell finished with powder coating. A rotary knob sits in the top-right corner for quick access to compatible functions. Internally, YUNZII uses a multi-layer gasket-mounted design, a structure that helps soften the typing feel and reduce harsh bottom-out noise. Reviewers of the earlier AL98 have described the board as solid and quiet, with a premium build that suits stationary desktop setups.
The AL98 Pro’s PCB supports hot-swappable mechanical switches, which means owners can change switches without soldering. It also includes ARGB lighting, with illumination placed in the lower LED area as well as around the logo and USB-C port. Buyers can choose between Snow Top Coffee V2 and Candy switches, and the keyboard is offered in Neon Illusion, White Ghost and Night City finishes.
Connectivity is tri-mode, covering wired USB-C, 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth. YUNZII says the keyboard can reach 8,000Hz polling over both USB-C and 2.4GHz, a level aimed at reducing input latency. Wireless use is supported by an 8,000mAh battery, with a claimed battery life of up to 72 hours. The board also runs QMK firmware and supports VIA, giving users deep remapping options for keys, shortcuts and layers without changing hardware.
