OBSBOT unveils affordable foldable webcam with advanced tracking features

OBSBOT releases the Meet Flip, a compact and foldable webcam featuring 4K recording, intelligent framing, and a price point aimed at casual users and content creators , signalling a new entry-level focus for the brand.

OBSBOT has added another compact webcam to its range with the Meet Flip, a foldable model that aims to bring the company’s higher-end tracking and imaging ideas to a more affordable price point. According to the launch details reported by Gizmochina and the French review, the camera is priced at about €99 and is positioned for everyday video calls, remote work and lightweight content creation rather than as a full replacement for OBSBOT’s more advanced PTZ-based products.

The hardware is unusually ambitious for the size. Gizmochina says the Meet Flip uses a 1/2-inch Sony CMOS sensor with 48 megapixels, phase-detection autofocus, 4K recording at 30 frames per second and 1080p at 60 frames per second. The French review adds that the camera folds shut so the lens is hidden inside the body, which doubles as a privacy cover and makes the unit easy to carry. It also ships with only the webcam, a USB cable and a USB-C adaptor, underlining the company’s focus on portability and simplicity.

In use, the Meet Flip appears to do well when lighting is favourable. The French review says colour reproduction is natural, exposure is well controlled and the image holds up better than the price might suggest. That said, as with many small-sensor webcams, performance weakens once light levels drop, with more noise and less fine detail. Even so, the overall balance of image quality, size and cost seems to be the main appeal.

Where OBSBOT has tried to offset the lack of a moving camera head is in software. The Meet Flip uses automatic reframing and digital zoom to keep the subject centred, a function the French review says feels smooth and mostly natural in operation. OBSBOT Center provides the camera settings, while the built-in microphones are described as adequate for routine meetings but less convincing in noisier environments. Taken together, the Meet Flip looks like a calculated entry-level option: small enough to travel with, capable enough for most users and clearly designed as an accessible doorway into OBSBOT’s ecosystem rather than a direct rival to its premium range.
