UGREEN’s Nexode Pro 160W Charger with Retractable Cable is a compact but technically ambitious wall charger aimed at users who need to power several devices from one outlet. The X776 model combines two USB-C ports, one USB-A port and a built-in retractable USB-C lead, giving it a four-device layout in a form factor that is still small enough to pack for travel. DongKnows described it as bulky for a mobile charger, but also said its size is easier to justify once its feature set is considered.
The charger’s headline specification is its 160W total power budget, with up to 140W available from the main USB-C output when conditions allow. TechRadar said that output makes it suitable for demanding devices such as laptops and tablets, while Macworld noted that the top USB-C port can deliver 140W on its own when the other ports are unused. Notebookcheck likewise found that the unit can support a laptop while topping up several other devices at once, although the actual split across ports depends on how many are in use.
UGREEN has also added features that are more often associated with a dock or smart home device than a charger. The unit includes a status screen that rotates with the charger’s orientation and can be managed through the UGREEN Connect mobile app over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. According to DongKnows, the app allows users to alter charging modes, switch ports on and off, adjust screen behaviour and push firmware updates. That level of control is unusual in a charger of this size, although it comes with the trade-off of requiring a vendor account and network connectivity.
Thermal safety and power efficiency are part of the appeal as well. TechRadar highlighted UGREEN’s ThermalGuard temperature monitoring, while DongKnows said the charger uses the company’s SmartCharge Power Distribution and GaNInfinity technologies alongside USB Power Delivery 3.1 and several brand-specific fast-charging protocols. Independent teardown work from LTEC Corporation also described the charger as a full 160W USB Type-C Power Delivery unit with a high power density for its size. There are limits: Notebookcheck said the display’s power readings can be off by a small margin, and DongKnows found the retractable cable useful but a little short. Even so, the overall verdict across reviews is consistent: this is a premium charger built for people who value speed, flexibility and a highly compact multi-device setup.
