TESSAN’s AERO 5000 is trying to solve a familiar problem in mobile accessories: power banks are often useful, but bulky enough to become the thing users end up leaving behind. The company has put thinness at the centre of the design, pairing a 5,000mAh battery with a 6.9mm titanium-bodied shell and aiming for a form factor that stays close to a phone without making it feel overbuilt. The charger is available for pre-order now, with shipping planned for October 2026.
The most notable claim is not the size but the battery technology. TESSAN says the AERO 5000 uses a semi-solid-state cell under its SolidSafe branding, which the company argues should reduce heat build-up and improve resistance to physical damage. It also says the cell can withstand piercing, bending and cutting without igniting. Those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results, so they remain to be verified in real-world use. Still, the emphasis on chemistry rather than just capacity gives the product more substance than a typical spec-led launch.
On paper, the charging figures are modest but practical. TESSAN says the magnetic wireless output supports 5W, 7.5W, 10W and 15W, while the USB-C port provides up to 20W wired output and 15W input. The company claims the battery can add 25% to an iPhone 16 Pro in 42 minutes, although actual performance will depend on temperature, device activity and alignment. At 5,000mAh, or 19.25Wh, it is best understood as a top-up battery rather than a full replacement for a wall charger.
Pricing makes the pitch more interesting. TESSAN lists the AERO 5000 at $69, but early buyers can apply a $30 coupon that cuts the pre-order price to $39, with payments refundable before shipment. That places it in line with other slim magnetic power banks, including rivals offering similarly thin bodies, 15W magnetic charging and USB-C support. Whether TESSAN’s model stands out will depend less on the marketing and more on whether its semi-solid-state design proves safer, sturdier and more durable over time.
