A new leak has offered the clearest look yet at Google’s Pixel 11 Pro XL, suggesting the company is preparing a modest but meaningful hardware refresh centred on the Tensor G6 chip and a revived notification light. According to Android Central, the phone is expected to appear at Google’s Made by Google event, with the Pro XL model likely positioned as the premium large-screen option and priced from $1,299. The report points to a matte black finish and a design that keeps Google’s familiar camera bar, but adds a new light system built into it rather than around the front display.
The benchmark data cited by Phonandroid suggests the Tensor G6 will use a seven-core CPU layout, with two efficiency cores clocked at 2.65 GHz, four mid-tier cores at 3.38 GHz and one high-performance core reaching 4.11 GHz. The same leak says the chip is paired with a 1.286 GHz GPU and 16 GB of RAM, with an OpenCL score of 7,757. That would imply a clear step forward from the Pixel 10 generation, although the figures still appear to trail the fastest Qualcomm designs, reinforcing the view that Google is concentrating on overall platform efficiency and on-device AI rather than raw benchmark leadership.
The other notable change is HiLight, a rear-mounted LED notification system that appears to sit within the camera module. Phonandroid described it as a way to alert users to calls and important notifications when the handset is silent and placed face down, where the always-on display is less useful. Android Authority has reported similar details under the name Pixel Glow, saying the feature is intended to bring back a more subtle form of notification lighting while keeping the phone’s main screen off. Notebookcheck also said code references in Google’s software point to RGB lighting in the Pixel 11 Pro and Pro XL, though none of this has been officially confirmed.
If the leak is accurate, Google is reviving an old idea with a more modern execution. Android Central noted that the light is expected to provide simple visual alerts for messages and calls, but it is not yet clear whether Google will allow the sort of detailed customisation that earlier notification LEDs once offered on some Android phones.
