DJI’s latest Osmo Pocket 4P enhances portable filmmaking with a dual-camera design, advanced imaging technology, and cinematic features, marking a significant shift in its compact camera lineup.
DJI’s Osmo Pocket 4P marks a clear shift in the company’s compact camera line. According to DJI’s announcement at Cannes, the device is intended as a more serious handheld filmmaking tool, with a stronger imaging system, 10-bit D-Log 2 colour and a design meant to stay pocketable. That combination moves it beyond the basic single-lens formula that defined earlier Pocket models. The review material supplied by SlashGear says the camera was tested in Toronto because it is not available in the United States, a result of regulatory disputes.
The biggest change is the addition of a dual-camera setup. Reviewers describe a 1-inch main sensor paired with a 60mm telephoto lens, giving the Pocket 4P a much wider range of framing options without needing a second device. TechRadar says the new arrangement makes the camera feel closer to carrying two focal lengths in one body, while still preserving the stabilised, all-in-one approach that made the series popular with vloggers and solo creators.
DJI says the Pocket 4P weighs 230g and uses 3-axis stabilisation, ActiveTrack 8.0 and up to 12x zoom. The company also lists two colour options, including Pearl White, and in-camera live photo support. For creators who work alone, the practical value is obvious: tighter shots are easier to capture on location, and the telephoto lens reduces the need to crop heavily in post-production.
Image quality appears to be the main selling point. TechRadar reports that the new imaging system can deliver up to 17 stops of dynamic range, supported by LOFIC technology, which helps preserve detail in highlights and shadows. Both TechRadar and Gadget Pilipinas highlight the new D-Log 2 profile as a major upgrade for users who want more flexibility in colour grading. DJI’s own launch language frames the camera as a more cinematic option for portable production, rather than simply an upgraded vlogging accessory.
Price and availability vary by market. Reviewstown and Gadget Pilipinas say the camera is on sale in the Philippines, with the base version priced at PhP37,790 and the Vlog Combo at PhP42,290. T3 reports the Pocket 4P launched on July 30, 2026. For buyers who want a compact camera that can handle wide and tighter compositions with minimal gear, the Pocket 4P appears to be the most ambitious Osmo Pocket yet.
