EPOS has added native Bluetooth support to its Microsoft Teams-certified IMPACT 1000 and IMPACT 500 headsets, aiming to reduce cable clutter, improve security, and streamline device connectivity for hybrid and flexible working environments.
EPOS has added native Bluetooth support for its Microsoft Teams-certified IMPACT 1000 and IMPACT 500 headsets, a change the company says is designed to reduce cable clutter and remove the need for a USB dongle. The feature lets the headset connect directly to a PC or laptop, while still preserving the core functions users expect in enterprise calling equipment.
According to EPOS, the update is available through the latest firmware in the EPOS Connect app. The company says the change is intended to make day-to-day use simpler for hybrid workers, hot-desking teams and employees who switch between several devices during the working day. It also frees up USB ports and reduces the chance of adapters being lost or misplaced.
The IMPACT 500 and IMPACT 1000 sit within EPOS’s Microsoft Teams portfolio, which Microsoft lists as certified for use on the platform. EPOS says the headsets are built around call quality, voice pickup and noise reduction, with the IMPACT 500 line also featuring EPOS AI voice technology and hybrid active noise cancellation to limit background sound in busy offices.
EPOS has also tightened the Bluetooth security layer by using Resolvable Private Addresses, or RPA, which makes devices harder to track and helps ensure only previously paired hardware reconnects reliably. Søren Holm Printz, the company’s vice-president of strategy and product management, said the update supports the flexibility and connectivity needed in modern workplaces, and described native Bluetooth as another step in EPOS’s wider audio strategy.
