TTArtisan has launched its Neo Series in Indonesia, introducing lightweight, autofocus prime lenses that challenge traditional tactile controls with their stripped-back, minimalist design for content creators and photographers.
TTArtisan has brought its Neo Series to Indonesia, adding a pair of full-frame autofocus prime lenses aimed at photographers, videographers and content creators who want a simpler, lighter setup. The line is distributed locally by PT Denka Pratama Indonesia and arrives with the Neo AF 50mm f/1.8 and Neo AF 85mm f/1.8. Jagat Review reported the launch in Jakarta on August 12, 2026.
The series is defined by its stripped-back design. According to the Indonesian launch details, the lenses do not include a manual focus ring or an aperture ring on the barrel. Instead, users control focus and exposure settings from the camera body, turning the system into a plug-and-shoot option rather than a lens designed around direct tactile control. That approach matches TTArtisan’s wider Neo concept, which earlier reports described as a minimalist, low-cost line for mirrorless full-frame cameras.
Autofocus is handled by a stepping motor, or STM, which TTArtisan says is quiet and responsive. On supported camera bodies, the lenses also work with eye autofocus, face detection and subject detection. The design further allows the outer shell to be swapped, giving users a way to change the look of the lens without changing the optics themselves. The compact build is intended to make the lenses easier to carry for everyday use and content production.
The 50mm f/1.8 is the first model to reach Indonesia. TTArtisan says it uses 12 elements in 8 groups, including two extra-low dispersion elements and four high-index elements, with a seven-blade diaphragm, a minimum focusing distance of 0.48 metres and a 52mm filter thread. Weighing 156g to 167g depending on mount, it is available in Nikon Z, L-mount and Sony FE versions at Rp2,499,000, with a one-year official warranty. The 85mm f/1.8 is positioned as the portrait option in the range and will go on sale in Indonesia in September 2026, with Nikon Z, L-mount and Sony FE mounts listed. Earlier industry reports suggested the Neo series would launch first with the 50mm model and follow with the 85mm later, underscoring TTArtisan’s strategy of offering inexpensive autofocus primes with very little external control.
