Google plans to launch its minimalist, screen-free Fitbit Air in India this October, marking a significant shift in fitness tracking with a device focused on continuous health monitoring and new market disruption.
Google will bring the Fitbit Air to India in October 2026, according to Gadgets360, marking the arrival of its first screen-free fitness tracker in the market. The device was first shown in select global markets and is being positioned as a minimalist wearable for continuous health monitoring rather than a full smartwatch replacement. The announcement comes after Google’s latest handset and smartwatch launches in India, as the company continues to widen its hardware line-up.
The company has not yet disclosed Indian pricing, the exact sale date or retail partners. During the Made by Google event briefing, it displayed the tracker with a pink Performance Loop band, suggesting that colourway may be among the launch options in India. Gadgets360 also reported that the Fitbit Air had already appeared on Amazon India, where third-party listings pointed to prices well above its overseas launch level.
Google introduced the Fitbit Air globally in May at $99.99, or about Rs. 9,400, and bundled a three-month trial of Google Health Premium with access to Google Health Coach tools. Forbes said the device includes heart rate monitoring, A-Fib detection, daily distance tracking and improved sleep tracking, while Android Central reported that it is designed to work across both iOS and Android through the updated Google Health app.
Technical details reported by Gizmochina show a compact body measuring 34.9mm by 17mm by 8.3mm and weighing 5.2g without the band. The tracker includes an optical heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for blood oxygen measurement, a temperature sensor and a vibration motor. It is also rated for water resistance up to 50 metres and will be offered with interchangeable Performance Loop, Active and Elevated Modern bands.
