Gigabyte launches a budget-friendly Gaming A16 in Germany, featuring an Intel Core i7-13620H and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070, targeting 1440p gaming at an accessible price point.
Gigabyte’s Gaming A16 is being sold in Germany as a lower-cost entry in the brand’s gaming line, with Notebooksbilliger.de listing the Intel-based model for €1,299. The configuration pairs a Core i7-13620H with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070, a combination that Notebookcheck says earned the machine a “Good (80%)” test result. Independent reviews described the A16 as a sensible match for 1440p-class gaming at this price, although the processor is not among Intel’s newest chips.
The specification set is broad for a mid-range gaming notebook. The laptop includes 16GB of DDR5 memory in a single module, which means it runs in single-channel mode unless the user adds a second stick, and it has two SSD slots with a 1TB PCIe 4.0 drive pre-installed. Notebookcheck also notes a matte 16-inch IPS panel at 2,560 x 1,600 pixels in a 16:10 format, with a 165Hz refresh rate and measured brightness of 425 nits. That puts it above basic gaming panels for clarity and outdoor usability, though the single-stick memory layout leaves upgrade room.
There are limits. The A16 does not include newer high-speed USB standards such as USB4 or USB 3.2 Gen 2, relying instead on older USB 3.2 Gen 1 and USB 2.0 ports, although its USB-C connector supports Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode. Reviewers also flagged modest battery life, with one test putting web browsing at 4.5 hours and gaming at 1.2 hours, alongside noticeable fan noise under load. Even so, the laptop’s value proposition remains clear: a 165Hz screen, RTX 5070 graphics, Ethernet and upgradeable storage in a package aimed at buyers who want performance without moving into premium pricing.
