Acer Japan launches three new 16-inch Nitro V 16 AI gaming laptops featuring AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 450 processor, high-refresh displays, and cutting-edge AI functions aimed at gamers and content creators alike.
Acer Japan is adding three new 16-inch Nitro V 16 AI gaming laptops to its line-up, all built around AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 450 processor and aimed at users who want a machine that can handle gaming, streaming, recording and light content creation as well as everyday work. According to Acer’s Japanese announcement, two models go on sale on August 7 and a third follows on August 20, with availability through Amazon, Acer’s online shop and its direct sales channels, while one version will also be sold through general retailers.
The three laptops share the same core specification: 32GB of memory, a 16-inch WUXGA IPS display and AMD’s chip with up to 50 TOPS of NPU performance, which Acer says is intended to support on-device AI functions. Graphics differ by model, with two variants using Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU and one stepping up to the GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. Storage options are split between 512GB and 1TB SSDs.
Acer says the screen has a 1,920 by 1,200 resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, up to a 180Hz refresh rate and a 3ms response time. It also claims 100% sRGB coverage and a non-glare finish, positioning the laptop as a fit for fast-paced games and colour-sensitive work such as video editing. Cooling is handled by two fans and a dual intake-and-exhaust setup, while the NitroSense utility lets users switch between quiet, balanced, performance and eco modes.
The machines also include a MUX switch, DTS:X Ultra audio, AI noise reduction through Acer PurifiedVoice and webcam tools under the PurifiedView name, including background blur, eye contact correction and automatic framing. Acer lists a full-HD infrared webcam, Windows Hello face recognition, Wi-Fi 6E, wired Ethernet, USB4 Type-C, three USB 3.2 Type-A ports and HDMI output. The notebook measures about 356.5mm by 260mm by 19.9mm and weighs roughly 2.1kg.
