Acer unveils the Predator Atlas 7 at IFA 2026, a smaller, high-spec handheld gaming PC featuring a 7-inch touchscreen, Intel Arc G3 Extreme processing, and advanced thermal management, aiming to disrupt the portable gaming market.
Acer has unveiled a new handheld gaming PC, the Predator Atlas 7, at IFA 2026 in Berlin, adding a smaller model to its Atlas range after the Predator Atlas 8 shown at Computex in June. The company positions the device as a more compact Windows 11 alternative for portable play, with Intel Arc G3 Extreme processing and Arc B390 graphics at the top of the specification sheet.
The handheld centres on a 7-inch full-HD touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, VRR support and 500 nits of peak brightness. Acer says the panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus with a DXC coating, plus an additional tempered-glass film, and supports 10-point multi-touch. Reports from product listings and launch coverage also indicate memory configurations of up to 24GB LPDDR5x and up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 NVMe storage.
Acer has also made thermal management a focus. According to the company, the Atlas 7 uses a dual-fan system combining an 89-blade metal Predator AeroBlade fan with a second plastic fan using Vortex Flow design. Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a UHS-II microSD slot, Wi‑Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, while power options run to 60Wh or 80Wh battery variants.
The device’s physical design follows the current handheld trend towards better ergonomics, with shaped grips, a larger palm rest area, recessed keys and thumbsticks using tunnel magnetoresistance sensors. There is also a fingerprint reader built into the power button, alongside two 2W speakers with DTS:X Ultra and twin microphones with Acer PurifiedVoice AI noise reduction. Acer says the Atlas 7 will reach North America in the fourth quarter of 2026, with EMEA availability from November 2026.
