Acer Japan unveils three new 16-inch Nitro V 16 AI gaming laptops, integrating AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 450 processor and advanced AI-assisted functions to optimise gaming, streaming, and productivity simultaneously.
Acer Japan has unveiled three new 16-inch Nitro V 16 AI gaming laptops built around AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 450 processor, adding another Ryzen-based option to a line that Acer has been expanding with Copilot+ PC features and faster displays. The company said the new models are designed to handle gaming, streaming and other background tasks at the same time, while also supporting AI-assisted functions such as search, image creation, live translation and content work.
All three configurations use the same core platform: 32GB of memory, a 16-inch WUXGA IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a maximum refresh rate of 180Hz. Acer says the panel covers 100% of the sRGB colour gamut and uses a non-glare finish, which should make it easier to use in bright rooms and more practical for editing or managing multiple windows than a standard 16:9 screen. The company also says the Ryzen AI NPU delivers up to 50 TOPS, placing the machines in Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC category.
The three models differ mainly in graphics and storage. The ANV16-A71-N73Y56 pairs the Ryzen AI 7 450 with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU and a 512GB SSD. The ANV16-A71-N73Z57 steps up to an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU and a 1TB SSD. The ANV16-A71-N73Z56 keeps the RTX 5060 Laptop GPU but increases storage to 1TB. Acer says the first two will go on sale on August 7, while the third model is due on August 20.
Acer is also leaning on the cooling and performance controls that have become standard on its gaming notebooks. The Nitro V 16 AI uses two fans and a dual-exhaust design to move air through the chassis, and the NitroSense utility allows users to monitor temperature, power settings and system load in real time. Four operating modes are available: quiet, balanced, performance and eco.
For gaming, the line includes a MUX switch, which lets the laptop route graphics either through the integrated GPU or directly from the discrete Nvidia chip. That direct path can improve frame rates and responsiveness, although Acer notes that it requires a reboot and can shorten battery life. The laptops also support DTS:X Ultra audio, AI noise reduction for voice calls, a 1080p IR webcam with background blur, eye contact correction and auto-framing, plus a privacy shutter and Windows Hello face sign-in.
Connectivity is broad for a mid-range gaming machine. Acer lists Wi-Fi 6E, Gigabit Ethernet and Bluetooth 5.4, along with one USB4 Type-C port, three USB 3.2 Type-A ports, HDMI output and a headset jack. The keyboard is a 107-key Japanese layout with RGB backlighting and a dedicated Copilot key. Acer said the new models will be sold through Amazon, the company’s online store and selected retail channels, depending on the configuration.
