Leaked specifications suggest Acer’s upcoming Googlebook 14 will feature OLED display, AI-driven neural processing, and high-end Intel chips, marking a step forward in Google’s premium laptop family.
Acer appears to be preparing a premium Googlebook 14 that would extend its long-running role as one of Google’s key laptop partners. A leak reported by Android Headlines, drawing on Chromium code commits and early European retailer listings surfaced by GBookHub, points to a machine codenamed “Moonstone” and carrying the model number GP714-91N.
The model name matters because it appears to continue Acer’s established 714 line while introducing a new GP prefix that the leak suggests may stand for “Googlebook Performance”. The reported device would slot into a higher-end Googlebook range rather than the mainstream Chromebook market, with Acer again positioned as a major supplier of hardware for Google’s desktop-focused ambitions.
At the centre of the specification sheet is Intel’s forthcoming Panther Lake platform. The leak says Acer is using the “Fatcat” baseboard and will offer Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 7 355 options. It also points to a neural processing unit rated at more than 47 TOPS, which would allow more AI work to run locally on the laptop rather than being sent to the cloud. That includes screen reasoning and multimodal sidebar functions linked to Gemini.
The display is said to be a 14-inch OLED panel with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a resolution of up to 2.8K WQXGA+, alongside full DCI-P3 colour coverage. Memory options are reported at 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X, with storage choices of 256GB or 512GB PCIe NVMe SSDs. The same leak says Acer will include a dedicated Gemini key, a Glow Bar status light, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a Titan C2 security chip and a physical webcam shutter.
The wider picture suggests Googlebook will not be a single hardware formula. Digital Citizen reported that another upcoming premium model, codenamed Felino, is tied to a 16-inch design with 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and 1TB of storage, also using Panther Lake. Separately, GbookHub said ASUS is working on a 14-inch clamshell model codenamed Lapis, while Acer’s own recent Swift Edge 14 AI launch shows the company is already moving aggressively across thin-and-light AI laptops with 14-inch OLED screens, Wi-Fi 7 and high-end Intel chips. Taken together, the leaks point to a broader shift: Google appears to be building a more varied premium laptop family, and Acer wants a large role in it.
Pricing and launch timing for the Googlebook 14 remain unknown, but the appearance of model references in code and retailer systems usually means a public reveal is not far away.
