Leaked details reveal Acer’s new Googlebook 14, an AI-focused 14-inch OLED laptop built on Intel’s Panther Lake platform, signalling a premium push in Google’s laptop ecosystem.
Acer is emerging as one of the key launch partners for Google’s new laptop push, with leaks now tying the long-rumoured “Moonstone” device to a retail model called the Acer Googlebook 14, or GP714-91N. The model has surfaced through Chromium code commits, regulatory filings and European retailer listings, suggesting the machine is moving well beyond the concept stage.
The headline feature set points to a premium 14-inch notebook built around Intel’s next-generation Panther Lake platform, with Core Ultra 5 325 and Core Ultra 7 355 options mentioned in the leaked material. The same reports indicate an integrated neural processing unit capable of more than 47 TOPS of local AI performance, a measure used to describe how many trillion operations a chip can handle each second. That would place the machine firmly in the class of AI-focused laptops now being pushed by major PC makers.
Display hardware also appears to be a major selling point. The Googlebook 14 is said to use a 14-inch 16:10 OLED panel with up to 2.8K resolution and full DCI-P3 colour coverage, a specification that should appeal to users who want strong contrast and wide colour support for media work as well as everyday productivity. Leaked details also suggest 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, 256GB or 512GB of PCIe NVMe storage, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, a Titan C2 security chip, a dedicated Gemini key and a physical camera shutter.
The device also appears to continue Acer’s established 714-series formula. Chrome Unboxed noted that the company’s Spin 713 and later Chromebook Plus Spin 714 models built a reputation for solid aluminium construction, practical port selection and strong screens, making them regular recommendations for work-focused buyers. If the Googlebook 14 carries that same design approach into Google’s new laptop category, Acer may be positioning itself not as an experimenter, but as one of the brands shaping the segment’s early identity.
