Acer unveils the Predator Atlas 7, a powerful 7-inch gaming handheld featuring high-end Intel hardware, Windows 11, and a focus on portability, alongside the experimental Project DualPlay Mini concept.
Acer has widened its Predator handheld line with the Atlas 7, a 7-inch gaming device that aims to bring the same high-end performance approach as its larger sibling into a more portable chassis. The company unveiled the model alongside Project DualPlay Mini at its next@acer event in Berlin, presenting one product for buyers and one concept for future form-factor experiments.
According to Acer, the Atlas 7 can be configured with up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and Intel Arc B390 graphics, with the handheld running Windows 11 and bundling Xbox Game Pass support. Tom’s Hardware reported that the device can also be fitted with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, placing it firmly in the premium Windows handheld category.
Acer says portability has been improved without abandoning serious thermal headroom. The Atlas 7 uses a dual-fan design built around a metal Predator AeroBlade fan with 89 blades and a secondary plastic fan, while Vortex Flow tuning is intended to move heat more efficiently through the chassis. The company also claims an 80Wh battery, a specification that Tom’s Guide suggested could help offset the smaller 7-inch 120Hz display and make the machine more practical away from mains power.
The hardware list is rounded out with a 7-inch FHD touchscreen with Variable Refresh Rate support, 500 nits of peak brightness, dual Thunderbolt 4 ports, UHS-II microSD expansion, Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Acer has also added a fingerprint reader in the power button for Windows Hello sign-in, while the controls include contoured grips, an enlarged palm rest, recessed keys and optional tunnelling magnetoresistance joysticks designed to reduce drift. Tom’s Guide said the machine felt sturdy in early testing, with smooth performance in Forza Horizon 6 at default settings.
Project DualPlay Mini, meanwhile, remains a concept. Acer describes it as a hybrid design that can switch between handheld gaming and productivity use, with a flip-and-swivel mechanism and a hidden backlit keyboard. Tom’s Hardware said the idea is to blend a handheld and a netbook-style device, though the company has not committed to release plans.
Acer says the Predator Atlas 7 will reach North America in Q4 2026 and EMEA in November 2026. Pricing has not been announced.
