Amazon outperforms Samsung’s own deals with significant gift card promotions on preorders for the Galaxy Z Fold8, Flip8, and Galaxy Watch9 series, as the next-generation devices go on sale.
Samsung’s latest foldables and wearables go on sale on Thursday, leaving Wednesday as the final day for preorder incentives. According to MacRumors, Amazon is offering the strongest incentives this week, with gift card promotions that beat Samsung’s own direct-to-consumer deals.
For the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Amazon is offering a $350 gift card with preorder of the unlocked versions, while the Galaxy Z Flip8 comes with a $200 gift card. Those offers do not require a trade-in, although buyers can lower the effective price further by handing over an older handset. Samsung’s own website, by contrast, is giving a $200 gift card for the Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra and a $150 gift card for the Flip8, with trade-in savings available there too.
Samsung’s official store says the Galaxy Z Fold8 starts at $1,899.99, or $79.17 a month before trade-in, and adds perks such as free shipping, online-only colours and carrier offers. The company also highlights bundled extras, including Adobe Lightroom access with eligible Galaxy Z series purchases.
Amazon is also discounting Samsung’s new wearables. The 40mm Galaxy Watch9 is listed at $379.99 with a $50 Amazon gift card, while the 44mm model is priced at $409.99 with the same bonus. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is priced at $699.99 and comes with a $100 Amazon gift card. Samsung is matching those base prices on its own site, but with Samsung gift cards instead of Amazon credit.
