Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max lead premium smartphone surge in Indonesia

Apple’s latest iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models have begun arriving in Indonesia with premium pricing, featuring advanced imaging, the new A20 Pro chip, and storage options up to 2TB, setting a new benchmark in the local high-end smartphone market.

Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have started arriving in Indonesia, with local authorised retailers opening pre-orders on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, at 09:00 WIB. According to VIVA, the booking window runs until 11 October, and the phones are being offered through channels including iBox, Digimap, Erafone, Urban Republic, Blibli Store and Hello Store. Several Indonesian tech outlets reported the same launch timetable across the country’s official retail network.

The most immediate detail for buyers is price. VIVA reported that the iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rp27,499,000 for the 256GB model, rising to Rp32,999,000 for 512GB, Rp42,999,000 for 1TB and Rp56,999,000 for the 2TB version. The iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at Rp29,499,000 for 256GB, then moves to Rp34,999,000 for 512GB, Rp44,999,000 for 1TB and Rp58,999,000 for 2TB. Uzone also published similar Indonesian pricing and said retail availability would follow on 16 October, although buyers are typically advised to check the final figure shown by each seller because promotions and payment terms can differ.

On specifications, the new Pro models are built around Apple’s A20 Pro chip, which third-party coverage describes as a 2nm processor, paired with a vapour chamber cooling system designed to improve sustained performance under heavier workloads. Apple’s focus this year is also on imaging. VIVA said both devices use a 48-megapixel Fusion main camera with variable aperture, while other reporting added that the camera system extends to 48-megapixel ultrawide and telephoto modules. That combination is intended to give users more control over depth of field and low-light results, as well as stronger video and content-creation capabilities.

The move places the iPhone 18 Pro line firmly at the top end of the Indonesian smartphone market, with storage capacities stretching up to 2TB and pricing that puts the devices well beyond mainstream flagship territory. Coverage from Qoo10 noted that Apple has positioned the range as a major performance and battery step forward, while Tom’s Guide described the A20 Pro as a notable generational shift for processing power and thermal management. For consumers in Indonesia, however, the immediate decision is more straightforward: whether the new camera system, larger storage ceiling and premium pricing justify an upgrade now that pre-orders are open.
