ASUS introduces a sharper-edged gaming laptop with a powerful RTX 5060 GPU, offering improved performance and cooling for gamers and creatives, now available at a discounted price in Japan.
ASUS is selling a gaming laptop with a sharper edge than the standard model. The Amazon Japan deal on the ASUS Gaming V16, model V3607VM-C7165R5060W, cuts the listed price from ¥269,800 to ¥209,800, a 22% reduction. In this version, ASUS swaps in an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU rather than the RTX 4050 used in the regular configuration, giving the machine more headroom for modern games and creative work.
The hardware is built around an Intel Core 7 240H processor, 16GB of DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. ASUS says the laptop pairs that with a 16-inch WUXGA display at 144Hz, aimed at smoother gameplay and better responsiveness for fast-moving content. The company’s US product page for the V16 family also lists RTX 5060-based versions with the same general screen and storage setup, reinforcing that this is positioned as a mid-to-upper tier gaming notebook rather than an entry-level model.
ASUS has also focused on cooling and day-to-day usability. The company says the laptop uses dual fans and heat pipes, along with 79-blade LCP fans designed to reduce vibration. It also features a touchpad that is 40% larger than the previous model and an illuminated keyboard with translucent WASD keys, a small but useful touch for players who spend long sessions on the machine.
