The Asus Zenbook 14 OLED, equipped with AMD Ryzen AI 7 processor and a high-brightness OLED screen, is attracting attention in Germany for its compact design and multimedia capabilities, appealing to professionals seeking portability and performance.
Asus’s Zenbook 14 remains one of the more polished compact laptops in its class, and the current UM3406GA-QD030W configuration is being sold by multiple retailers in Germany for just under €1,300. According to Notebookcheck, the machine has not yet been formally reviewed, but the physically similar predecessor earned a “Good” rating of 86%, suggesting the line continues to target buyers who want a premium 14-inch notebook for office work, media and travel.
The headline specification is AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 445, a six-core, 12-thread chip with Radeon 840M integrated graphics and a 50 TOPS neural processing unit. In practical terms, that means the laptop is aimed at everyday productivity, streaming, web use and light gaming rather than demanding 3D work. The system comes with 32 GB of onboard LPDDR5x memory, so the RAM cannot be upgraded later, and a 1 TB SSD is fitted in the only storage slot. Notebookcheck also notes that the drive can be replaced with a larger one if needed.
The display is one of the model’s strongest selling points. Asus uses a 14-inch glossy OLED panel in a 16:10 format with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, which should suit documents and spreadsheets better than a traditional 16:9 screen. The company claims up to 600 nits of HDR brightness, while the panel’s key advantages are deep blacks, fast response times and strong DCI-P3 colour coverage. The lid also opens to 180 degrees, making shared viewing easier.
Connectivity is respectable for a thin-and-light laptop, with a backlit keyboard and two USB-C ports, one USB4 and one USB 3.2 Gen 2. Both support power delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode. Windows 11 Home is pre-installed, although no power adaptor is included in the box. Independent reviews of the Zenbook 14 OLED family have generally praised its slim design, solid battery life and premium screen, while also noting familiar compromises such as modest speakers, a glossy surface that can reflect light and a limited port selection.
