Boltt launches its first smartphones in India, featuring AI-enhanced camera software and Google-backed features, marking a strategic push into the entry-level segment amid growing competition.
Boltt’s first smartphones in India are set to arrive on August 25, with the company positioning the Ace 5G above the Evo in its opening lineup. According to Gadgets 360, both phones will be sold through Flipkart and are being pitched around camera hardware and Google-backed software features rather than premium materials or flagship processors.
The Ace 5G will carry a 64-megapixel main rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, while the Evo will use a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Both handsets will have an 8-megapixel front camera with Real Tone support, which is intended to render skin tones more accurately. Boltt says the two models will also include Face Unblur, AI-powered Night Mode, scene optimisation, AI Portraits with hardware-level bokeh and depth mapping, and selfie enhancement tools.
Google’s Gemini platform will be central to the software experience. Users will be able to use Circle to Search and Google Lens for object recognition, text translation, product searches and other on-screen queries without leaving the app they are using. That places the phones among a growing number of budget devices leaning on integrated AI features as a selling point rather than on raw specification alone.
The two models will also be visually distinct. Gadgets 360 reported that the Ace 5G has a rectangular rear camera module with three lenses and an LED flash, while the Evo uses a square module with two cameras and a flash. Both have flat displays with centred hole-punch cut-outs, flat side frames and right-side controls. The Ace 5G will come in red and measure 9.49mm thick, while the Evo will be offered in light blue.
Boltt’s smartphone push marks a broader expansion for Fire-Boltt, the wearable maker behind the new sub-brand. Smartprix reported that the company is entering the market with budget phones priced between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000, aimed at competing in India’s crowded entry-level segment. Mobigyaan said the brand is leaning on its existing connected user base of more than 40 million as it expands beyond smartwatches, while 91mobiles reported that the Evo has already surfaced on Geekbench with a Unisoc T7250 chip, Android 16 and 4GB of RAM.
