Boltt unveils detailed support timelines for its first two Indian smartphones, indicating a focus on software longevity alongside competitive pricing and hardware features, with sales starting on September 1 via Flipkart.
Boltt has set out a clearer software support timetable for its first two smartphones in India, promising three major Android version upgrades and four years of security patches for both the Ace 5G and the Evo. According to the company’s release, the support window begins on each phone’s official launch date, giving buyers a defined update commitment before the devices first reach customers.
The policy also specifies that security fixes will arrive at least once every quarter, with extra patches possible if critical flaws need faster treatment. Boltt said that the exact timing of updates can still depend on chipset support, Google certification requirements and technical compatibility, which is common in the Android market where long-term maintenance is tied to both hardware and platform validation.
The timing of the announcement is notable because the phones are due to go on sale through Flipkart on September 1, with launch-day pricing lower than their standard retail prices. The Ace 5G will sell for Rs. 13,999, or Rs. 12,999 on day one, while the Evo will be priced at Rs. 10,999, falling to Rs. 9,999 for the initial offer period, according to Boltt and reports from gadgets and retail-focused technology sites.
The two models share much of their core hardware. Both run Android 16 and use 6.79-inch HD+ LCD panels with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 600 nits of peak brightness. The Ace 5G is powered by the Unisoc T8200 and comes with up to 8GB of RAM, while the Evo uses the Unisoc T7250 with up to 6GB of RAM. Each offers up to 128GB of storage and microSD expansion of up to 1TB. On the camera side, the Ace 5G has a 64-megapixel main sensor, while the Evo combines a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 2-megapixel macro lens. Both include 8-megapixel front cameras and 6,000mAh batteries, with the Ace 5G also supporting 18W wired charging, 5G, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C. FoneArena said the devices also ship with a clean Android 16 build and Google Gemini features, underscoring Boltt’s attempt to position the phones around software rather than only price.
