Casio’s F-B100W-1A retro digital watch, featuring Bluetooth connectivity and step tracking, makes its UK debut with potential for wider international release amid eco-conscious design and vintage appeal.
Casio is bringing its F-B100W-1A, a retro digital watch with modern fitness functions, beyond Japan, with a UK listing suggesting a wider international release may be under way. The design keeps the compact, 1980s-inspired look that made the original F series popular, but adds Bluetooth connectivity and step counting in a package that weighs just 26 grams. According to Gizguide, the model is priced at GBP 55 in the UK, before taxes and import charges, while there is no confirmed availability for the Philippines yet.
The watch measures 41.9 x 38.1 x 8.8 mm and uses bio-based resin for both the case and strap, which Casio says supports a more eco-conscious build. It has a resin glass LCD display, a green LED backlight with selectable illumination time and water resistance for everyday use. The Bluetooth link enables automatic time adjustment, easier settings management and a phone-finder function, while Casio says it will stay accurate to within ±15 seconds a month when used without a phone connection.
The main new health feature is a built-in step tracker, a notable addition for a model with a classic digital-watch layout. Users can set goals from 1,000 to 50,000 steps, receive reminders when activity is low and review movement data alongside timekeeping functions. Casio has also fitted a 1/100-second stopwatch with memory for up to 200 lap and split records, a countdown timer of up to 60 minutes, five daily alarms and an hourly time signal. The company says the CR2016 battery should last about 2 years.
The F-B100W-1A sits alongside Casio’s more overtly fitness-focused watches, such as the BSA-B100 series, which also pairs Bluetooth with step tracking but uses a larger, more sport-oriented case. It is also less rugged than Casio’s outdoor G-Shock models, which include additional sensors such as an altimeter, barometer, compass and thermometer. That positioning suggests the F-B100W-1A is aimed less at serious training than at users who want light activity tracking in a compact watch with a vintage aesthetic.
