Dell unveils the Dell 15 D15261, a lightweight and affordable 15-inch laptop featuring the new Intel Wildcat Lake platform, aimed at users prioritising portability and basic performance at a starting price of $700.
Dell has introduced a new entry in its 15-inch laptop range, the Dell 15 D15261, with pricing starting at $700. The machine is built around Intel’s Wildcat Lake platform, a low-power line aimed at modest performance and improved efficiency, rather than high-end throughput. According to IXBT News, the base model ships with 8GB of memory, while higher-spec versions can be configured with up to 32GB.
The notebook is offered with a choice of Intel Core 3 304, Core 5 320 and Core 7 350 processors. Dell’s broader 15-inch line shows how the company continues to segment the range across different Intel platforms and price points, with some current models using older Core i7 chips and others moving to newer Core Ultra parts. That makes the D15261 part of a wider refresh, rather than an isolated launch.
The display measures 15.3 inches and uses a 1200p panel with 45% NTSC colour coverage, which suggests an emphasis on basic productivity rather than colour-critical work. Power comes from a 41Wh battery. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6 and two USB-C 3.2 ports, while storage is listed at 512GB SSD.
At 1.54kg, the laptop is relatively light for a mainstream 15-inch system, although the weight and battery size indicate a machine designed for portability and efficiency rather than endurance or premium features. Dell’s own current 15-inch models also show that the company has been offering larger batteries, faster displays and up to 1TB of storage in other configurations, underlining that the new D15261 sits near the value end of the line-up.
