DJI has opened pre-orders in China for its next-generation Osmo 360 II, featuring replaceable lenses, upgraded 8K/60 video capability, larger battery, and NFC support, signalling a broader global launch soon.
DJI has begun taking pre-orders in China for what appears to be its next 360-degree camera, the Osmo 360 II, with multiple Chinese technology outlets saying the company opened sales at 8 pm Beijing time on August 7. The timing fits DJI’s usual pattern of unveiling products in its home market first before widening the launch overseas, and early reports suggest a broader rollout could follow within weeks.
The new model is being framed as a direct response to one of the biggest complaints about the first Osmo 360: its fixed lenses. According to early reports and a teaser clip circulating online, the Osmo 360 II keeps the compact, square-bodied design but adds replaceable lenses, which should make the camera easier to maintain after scratches or hard use. Leaks also point to modest exterior tweaks rather than a full redesign.
On the specification side, the most persistent rumours suggest a move from 8K60 video recording, up from 8K50 on the original model, alongside NFC support for quicker pairing and faster file transfer. A larger 2,150 mAh battery has also been reported, compared with the 1,950 mAh cell in DJI’s current Osmo 360, which could translate into longer recording time. DJI’s existing Osmo 360 already supports up to 100 minutes of 8K/30fps capture and up to 120 minutes in Endurance mode, with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and 128GB of built-in storage.
The launch is also being watched closely for international availability, especially in the US. Reports citing FCC paperwork say the Osmo 360 II cleared authorisation before the December 22, 2025 cutoff that left some newer DJI products unable to reach the American market through normal channels. If that holds, the camera should be eligible for US sale once DJI gives it a full global launch, although pricing and final specifications have not yet been officially disclosed.
