Garmin introduces the Approach S72 to Malaysia, blending serious golf tools with advanced health tracking and smartwatch capabilities in a sleek, premium design, available from October 30th.
Garmin has brought the Approach S72 to Malaysia, extending its golf-focused wearable line with a model that moves closer to a mainstream premium smartwatch while keeping golf tools at its core. The device comes in 43mm and 47mm versions and is positioned as a slimmer, lighter and more comfortable option for all-day wear, with Garmin using a brighter AMOLED panel, a titanium bezel, a sapphire crystal lens and a fabric strap to lift the finish above its earlier golf watches.
The watch is built around course play as well as casual use. Garmin says it contains mapping data for more than 43,000 golf courses worldwide and can surface the user’s heart rate alongside score information. It also records on-wrist swing statistics such as swing speed, backswing length and wrist rotation, with deeper analysis available in the Garmin Golf app. Green Reading and Aerial Imagery features are included too, although full use of those functions depends on a paid Garmin Golf membership.
Garmin is also leaning more heavily into broader health tracking. According to the company, the Approach S72 supports ECG, blood oxygen monitoring, Training Readiness, stress tracking, sleep monitoring and Body Battery metrics. It is also the first golf watch in Garmin’s range to offer both phone calls and voice commands, thanks to an integrated speaker and microphone. The 47mm model is rated for up to 20 hours in golf mode and up to 16 days in smartwatch mode, while the 43mm version is rated for up to 15 hours of golf use and up to 10 days in smartwatch mode.
In Malaysia, the Approach S72 is priced at RM3,599 for both sizes. Garmin says local sales will begin on 30 October 2026 through its online store, Shopee, Lazada, the AECO e-store, Garmin outlets and authorised retailers. The launch places the S72 alongside a growing class of specialist sports watches that increasingly try to do two jobs at once: provide serious, sport-specific data on the course and act as a conventional smartwatch the rest of the day.
