Garmin’s third-generation MARQ collection combines premium materials with AMOLED displays, global mapping and inReach connectivity across six specialist smartwatches.
Garmin has expanded its MARQ line with a third generation of luxury smartwatches, extending the series across six purpose-built models for sport, travel, aviation, diving, golf and outdoor use. The new range keeps the collection’s high-end watchmaking cues while adding a larger AMOLED display and deeper navigation and communication tools.
The MARQ Gen 3 family comprises the Adventurer, Athlete, Aviator, Commander, Diver and Golfer. Garmin has paired each edition with Grade 5 titanium, sapphire crystal and ceramic detailing, along with straps or bracelets matched to the individual model. The company has also added customisable watch faces designed specifically for the collection, reinforcing its position as a premium product rather than a general-purpose smartwatch.
At the centre of the update is a 1.4-inch AMOLED screen, accompanied by preloaded mapping for worldwide use, address search and embedded inReach connectivity. When paired with an active plan, that system can support communication over LTE or satellite, which is intended to help users remain in contact in remote areas or while travelling beyond conventional mobile coverage. Garmin has also included a speaker, microphone, LED torch and its standard health and wellness functions, including the ECG app where regulatory approval allows.
Battery performance is quoted at up to 18 days in smartwatch mode, a figure that underlines Garmin’s emphasis on endurance as much as luxury design. Pricing places the collection at the top end of the company’s wearable range: the Athlete starts at $2,500, the Adventurer at $2,700 and the Golfer at $2,800, while the Aviator, Commander and Diver are each priced at $3,100. The launch suggests Garmin is continuing to target buyers who want traditional materials and specialist functions in a single device, rather than a fashion-led smartwatch with limited utility.
